“The Showcase Chase”

“The Showcase Chase”

This is a completely optional addition to “The Showcase” game. Only those that choose to participate in “The Showcase Chase” are eligible for the prize. You designate your team as “Chase Eligible” when signing up.

How to Enter

When registering for “The Showcase,” team owners will have the option on whether to make their team(s) eligible for “The Showcase Chase.” Those teams shall be called “Chase Eligible.” The entry fee is $10.00 per team. Team owners must declare their team(s) “Chase Eligible” and pay the entry fee PRIOR to the start of the season (February 26, 2017).

LATE REGISTRATION: If a team would like to declare themselves eligible for “The Showcase Chase” after the season has started, the entry fee is increased to $30.00 per team. The final cutoff for Late Registration is July 30, 2017.

How to Play & Win

The scoring for “The Showcase Chase” will mirror the scoring of “The Showcase.”

If any “Chase Eligible” team earns the highest score–meaning is declared the “Weekly Winner”–in any of the first 26 races of the NASCAR season (Daytona 500 through Richmond 2 on September 9, 2017), that team will be earn a berth into “The Showcase Chase.” If multiple teams tie for the “Weekly Win” in one week and multiple are “Chase Eligible,” they will all earn a berth into “The Showcase Chase.” Teams that pay their Late Registration entry fee after a win will still earn a berth.

If any non-“Chase Eligible” team has the sole highest score (“Weekly Winner”) for a race, there will be no Chase berth awarded.

At race #27 (Chicago), there will be a separate Standings Sheet made for “The Showcase Chase” and all eligible teams will start with zero (0) points. This Standings Sheet is completely separate from “The Showcase” Standings. For races #27, #28, and #29 the Chase Eligible teams will accumulate the points they earn in “The Showcase.”

If any Chase Eligible team wins or ties for the “Weekly Win” during those three races, they automatically advance to the next round. After race #29 (Dover 2), the top 12 (less the number of teams who accumulate weekly wins) Chase Eligible teams with the highest cumulative scores from races #27 through #29 will advance on to the next round. The rest of the Chase Eligible teams will be eliminated. If there is a tie among teams who get in on points, all tied teams will advance, meaning it is possible the next round will have more than 12 participants.

Starting at race #30, the remaining Chase Eligible teams will again be reset to zero (0) points. For races #30, #31, and #32 the remaining Chase Eligible teams will accumulate the points they earn in “The Showcase.” If any remaining Chase Eligible team wins or ties for the “Weekly Win” during those three races, they automatically advance to the next round. After race #32 (Kansas 2), the top 8 (less the number of teams who accumulate weekly wins) remaining Chase Eligible teams with the highest cumulative scores from races #30 through #32 will advance on to the next round. The rest of the Chase Eligible teams will be eliminated. If there is a tie among teams who get in on points, all tied teams will advance, meaning it is possible the next round will have more than 8 participants.

Starting at race #33, the remaining Chase Eligible teams will again be reset to zero (0) points. For races #33, #34, and #35 the remaining Chase Eligible teams will accumulate the points they earn in “The Showcase.” If any remaining Chase Eligible team wins or ties for the “Weekly Win” during those three races, they automatically advance to the final round. After race #35 (Phoenix 2), the top 4 (less the number of teams who accumulate weekly wins) remaining Chase Eligible teams with the highest cumulative scores from races #33 through #35 will advance on to the next round. The rest of the Chase Eligible teams will be eliminated. If there is a tie among teams who get in on points, all tied teams will advance, meaning it is possible the next round will have more than 4 participants.

For race #36, the final race of the season, the remaining Chase Eligible teams will again be reset to zero (0) points. The team(s) among those with the highest score at Homestead (race #36) will be declared “The Showcase Chase Champion” and will win $500.00. If there is a tie for the “Champion,” the prize will be split evenly among the teams that are tied.
